The Tax Lady was formed in 1996 by Carol Rankin and she ran the business from the billiard room in her Stokes Valley residence. In 2007 two of her staff, Ian and Maria, took over the business as she eased into retirement. Wanting to retain the personal service provided by Carol they stayed on in her premises for a further four years before expanding the business and moving to a new processing office in Silverstream, keeping the Dixon St Office to enable appointments in town where most clients are based.
For your initial appointment you will either meet with Ian or Maria.
Maria Anderson (Director)
After working for the P&O Group for 24 years in accounting, completing her Diploma in Business Studies and then seeing her twin boys through their early childhood, Maria came to help The Tax Lady out for a few weeks in 2004 and never left.
If not here Maria would be "in Tuscany eating olives and drinking good red wine"
Ian Voisey (Director)
Ian has been associated with The Tax Lady since 1996 and joined the staff in April 2003 when DOS was still used to do GST returns. He has a diverse range of clients and is knowledgeable in all areas of income tax legislation.
If not here Ian would be "on a World Trip preferably the Queen Mary II bumping into 'widowed billionaires'"
Viv Sutton (Taxation Consultant)
Viv joined The Tax Lady back in February 2003. She is our expert on GST and prepares most of the GST returns for our clients, especially the tricky ones who have withholding tax that need reconciling with IRD. Viv has experience in small business accounting and outside of work she takes an active role in her boys recreational activities.
If not here Viv would be "seeing the world, one beach at a time"
Gemma Falleni (Taxation Consultant)
Gemma joined us in February 2008 and is our guru with Xero. She prepares Financial Accounts and Income Tax returns for our wide variety of clients.
If not here Gemma would be "on a safari in Africa"
Adrienne Simpson (Taxation Consultant)
Adrienne joined us in January 2013. With many years experience in the Accounting industry her expertise is with Bank Link and preparing Financial Accounts and Income Tax returns for our wide variety of clients.
If not here Adrienne would be "spending as much time as possible travelling with an unlimited supply of funds"
Emma Soutar (Client Services Coordinator)
Emma joined us in September 2016 and takes care of all our administration. Emma has studied Business Administration and has previously worked for Inland Revenue but now she's joined our side.
If not here Emma would be "traveling the world and exploring new places."
Woollie (Office Cat)
Woollie started coming to work after breaking his leg and he has kept turning up for work on time ever since. He loves sorting papers to best suit his nap time requirements and offering stress relief for staff and clients!
If not here Woollie would be "sleeping in the sun in between chasing the occasional rabbit"
