Income Tax
At The Tax Lady we offer a broad range of Taxation Services. Taxation can be a major cost to your business. We will work in partnership with you to minimise your tax and ensure any tax due is paid on time.
We are recognised by the Inland Revenue as Tax Agents and are a Full Member of the Accounts & Tax Agents Institute of NZ (Atainz).
Unless you are employed and have no other income from other sources you will need to complete an income tax return each year. The tax year for most businesses is 1 April to 31 March. If you are a NZ resident for tax purposes, in most cases you will be taxed on your worldwide income.
If you are operating your business as a partnership, trust or company you will need to file a separate tax return for your business.
Income tax is payable on the net profit from your business, which is the income earned less any allowable business expenses.
If you appoint a Tax Agent to prepare and file your returns you will, in most cases, receive an extension of time to file, meaning you will have until 31 March the following year to file your return.
About Us
The Tax Lady was formed in 1996 by Carol Rankin and she ran the business from the billiard room in her Stokes Valley residence.
